Horseback Activity is considered by many to be therapeutic; a famous horse quote says that “the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a Man”. The Sitting Bull College Equine Studies Program strives to maintain a cultural tradition of horsemanship, which is not only an aspect of Dakota/Lakota Culture but a heritage of the livestock industry of the region. The SBC Horsemanship Program provides Continuing Education Opportunities,

  • Farrier

Youth Riding Activity is an opportunity for Children to participate with their parents in riding instruction.

Rodeo Club SBC Rodeo Club strives to offer students the opportunity to compete in Intercollegiate competition in the Great Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association.  Currently scholarships are being offered to students who attain membership and compete in the Association.

The Student Rodeo Club is also the main Sponsor for SBC YOUTH Rodeo Association; members have the opportunity to compete in a rodeo season of five or more events that culminate in a prestigious awards ceremony that is held at Prairie Knights Casino. Event Winners receive Trophy Buckles, and other prizes. In the 2010 Season five divisions of competition were held for Pee Wee- Collegiate level competitors.
