Sitting Bull College - Story Image
During a weekend in October 2024, Kennedy Pleets presented her summer research project as a poster at the 2024 North Dakota INBRE (IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence) Annual Symposium in Grand Forks, ND. Kennedy did an awesome job representing Sitting Bull College. The focus of the symposium is on research conducted by undergraduate students from undergraduate institutions, tribal colleges, and universities across North Dakota. ND INBRE focuses on health and the environment with research projects that include undergraduate students.IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) is a federally funded grant program that originates from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The INBRE program funds statewide networks of higher education and research institutions in each IDeA-states and Puerto Rico to build biomedical research capacity through support for faculty research and mentoring, student participation in research, and research infrastructure enhancement at network institutions.
In addition to this awesome accomplishment, Kennedy is also working toward the Veterinary Assistant certificate and is in the Environmental Science program. She is also a member of the SBC Chapter of AISES, works in the SBC Analytical Lab and participates in many of the activities happening on campus. Sitting Bull College is very proud of Kennedy Pleets!
